Mr Prabhas Kejariwal, curator and owner of Chitrakoot Art Gallery, is not only an art enthusiast but also a photography expert.

The works of Charles Henry Bennett and Prabhas Kejariwal– Luminous Water: Light and Shade were published by Chitrakoot Art Gallery, Kolkata in August 2024.

Prabhas Kejariwal specializes in reflections through glass. It is magical to see how image of a plate of food, a teapot, a cutlery, a book, or a flame of a candle transforms when clicked beyond a glass or a glass of water. As lights and shadows play a crucial role in photography, clicking the same object from different angles generates attractive tapestries and patterns of the objects on the items on which the light falls.

The subtle shadows and the designs capture the moods, emotions, thoughts of the photographer, and the nuances of the objects in focus.

Prabhas Kejariwal’s keen observations have led him to take a few exquisite photographs outdoors. Some photographs, such as Sublime Beauty: Syrian Actress inside the Tree, Yogi inside the Tree: Magical Mystic, and Inside the Tree: Seek Hope, have fascinated many artists and photographers. The curves, knolls, hollows, the branches of the tree, and its leaves have been featured beautifully through his camera and the play of light and shadow of the Sun. The photographer also uniquely clicked the flame of a candle in another instance without a glass. The outcome is pure, magnetic, and powerful.

This is his first book on photography. We will eagerly wait to see and know more about his photographic skills, his thoughts on indoor and outdoor photography. We are curious to hear from him about reflections and the effects of light on objects in photography. His photographic marvels are to be explored.
