Dr Achyuta Samanta Honoured with Lifetime Achievement Award by Ramakrishna Mission College

Rahara: Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Centenary College, Rahara, hosted a Student Felicitation Programme today and conferred Dr Achyuta Samanta, Founder of KIIT, KISS & KIMS with the Lifetime Achievement Award for his outstanding and selfless contributions to education and social transformation.

Recognising his pathbreaking work in uplifting marginalised communities through free and holistic education, the college applauded Prof. Samanta’s efforts in supporting over 80,000 students with food, shelter, and learning opportunities under his institutions. His philosophy of the Art of Giving and inclusive growth has gamered national and international acclaim.

“I am deeply humbled to receive this honour from an institution rooted in the ideals of Swami Vivekananda,” said Dr Samanta. “I believe education is the most powerful tool to bring about social change. I dedicate this award to the thousands of underprivileged children who prove every day that with the right opportunity, they can transform their lives and the world around them.”

The event also celebrated the academic excellence of over 300 undergraduate students. Prof. Debasish Bandyopadhyay, Vice Chancellor of KISS University, attended as Guest of Honour.

Swami Kamalasthananda, Principal of the college, remarked, “Prof. Samanta’s life and work are a beacon of hope and service, aligning deeply with our mission to nurture values-based education. Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Centenary College, Rahara, is a premier institution under the Ramakrishna Mission, founded in 1963 to commemorate the birth centenary of Swami Vivekananda. It forms an integral part of the Ramakrishna Mission Boys’ Home, which was established in 1944 as an orphanage for children affected by the Bengal Famine. Over time, the Home evolved into a large educational complex with schools and colleges serving nearly 4,000 students.
