Fortis Hospital, Anandpur Kolkata conducts Basic Life Support (BLS) Training session at Gokhale Memorial Girls’ College (GMGC)
Kolkata: Fortis Hospital, Anandapur, Kolkata, successfully conducted a Basic Life Support (BLS) training session for students and faculty of Gokhale Memorial Girls’ College (GMGC), Kolkata, on December 10, 2024. The initiative, led by Dr. Sanjukta Dutta, Consultant & Emergency Head, Fortis Hospital Anandapur, Kolkata, aimed to empower youth with the knowledge and confidence to handle medical emergencies effectively.
BLS training is an invaluable skill set that teaches participants to recognize warning signs of medical emergencies, such as heart attacks, strokes, and airway obstructions, and provide immediate care. The training session included practical demonstrations on managing emergency scenarios like choking, cardiac arrest, and injuries, and demonstrated proper techniques for administering timely assistance. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation, with XX attendees actively engaging in the training.
Highlighting the importance of such training for young adults, Dr. Sanjukta Dutta, Consultant & Emergency Head, Fortis Hospital Anandapur, Kolkata, stated, “CPR and BLS training can truly make the difference between life and death in critical situations. It is especially important for college students to learn these skills as they are at an age where they can grasp and implement them effectively. It was an absolute privilege to conduct this session for the students of GMGC and hope they will continue to practice and refine these life-saving skills.”
